| Day 1 Thu: Arrive Hobart On your arrival at Hobart Airport we transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Meet your Driver/Guide and discover Hobart on your afternoon city orientation tour. See Battery Point, the Botanic Gardens, Salamanca Place and Constitution Dock. Travel to the summit of Mt Nelson for picturesque views over the city and the Derwent River. Hotel: Macquarie Leisure Inn, Hobart, 2 nights. D Day 2 Fri: Port Arthur Discover Tasmania’s convict past during a guided walking tour of the Port Arthur Historic Site followed by a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. Cross Eaglehawk Neck – once the guarded check-point between the mainland and convicts – on to the Tasman Peninsula to feast our eyes on amazing vistas of the spectacular natural formations of Tasman’s Arch, Devils Kitchen and the Blowhole. B Day 3 Sat: Freycinet National Park Begin the day with a sweet experience at the famous Cadbury Chocolate Factory (seasonal). Travel via the historic town of Ross with its many bakeries and quaint buildings before visiting Freycinet National Park. A guided walk with a National Park Ranger will unveil astonishing views across brilliant blue water, forest and golden beach. Continue to the seaside fishing town of St Helens, the largest town on the east coast. Hotel: Tidal Waters Resort, St Helens. B - D Day 4 Sun: Bay of Fires This morning we view the spectacular Bay of Fires from Binnalong Bay |

town, where Tasmanians spend their summer holidays. We visit the Bay of
Fires Winery, home to cool climate varietal wines, for a wine tutorial and
tasting. Travel to Beaconsfield, the home of the ‘great escape’,
before arriving in Launceston. Hotel: The Sebel Hotel, Launceston. B Day 5 Mon: Lemonthyme Pass through the historic town of Evandale with its superb elegant Georgian buildings before travelling to the heart of Tasmania for our overnight stay at Lemonthyme Lodge. This afternoon an opportunity to enjoy the unique beauty of this location on the edge of the Cradle Mountain National Park. Hotel: Lemonthyme Lodge, Moina. B - D Day 6 Tue: Cradle Mountain Travel to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre this morning. Here discover Waldheim Chalet. There is time for you to walk around Dove Lake if you would like or just relax and enjoy the World Heritage scenery. Arrive this afternoon at Tullah Lakeside Chalet Lodge, a delightful setting overlooking Lake Rosebery. Hotel: Tullah Lakeside Chalet, Tullah. B - D Day 7 Wed: Gordon River Cruise After travelling to Strahan this morning we board our boat for the cruise along the famous Gordon River. You’ll see the ruins of the penal colony on Sarah Island. This afternoon there is an opportunity to ride on the West Coast Wilderness Railway from Strahan to Queenstown |
or maybe visit the Huon Pine
Museum. Or you may wish to explore the quaint village of Strahan at your
leisure. Hotel: Strahan Village, Strahan. B - L Day 8 Thu: Tarraleah Travel to Lake St Clair and see the wild mountain landscapes of the Cradle Mountain - Lake St Clair National Park. We continue to the restored Hydro town of Tarraleah. Enjoy a guided walking tour of the township and see the weather reading station. You also have time to walk to Tarraleah Falls. The town’s original buildings have been converted into accommodation. Hotel: Tarraleah - Scholars Quarters, Tarraleah. B - D Day 9 Fri: Peppermint Bay Visit Mt Field National Park and see the powerful fall of water at the three-tiered Russell Falls.Venture south to Huon pine country - you can smell it in the air! Tour Tasmania’s only organic cheesery at Grandvewe Dairy and try some of their unique cheese as well as organic wines. We have time to explore Peppermint Bay, named after the trees that were found here by the early settlers, before boarding our cruiser for the journey back to Hobart. We’ll pass a salmon farm before sailing under the Tasman Bridge. Hotel: Macquarie Leisure Inn, Hobart, Hobart. B - D Day 10 Sat: Depart Hobart Time on your own to discover the secrets of the famous Salamanca Market before being transferred to the airport for your flight home. B |
