On your arrival at Launceston Airport we transfer you to your hotel for check-in, before an afternoon tour of the Tamar Valley. We’ll visit the Bay of Fires Winery for a wine tasting, tutorial and tasting plate, and see the Swiss style Village of Grindelwald, before returning to the hotel for a Welcome Dinner with your Tour Director and fellow passengers.
Hotel: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Launceston.

Day 2 Mon: St Helens
A guided tour of Bridestowe Lavender Farm (early Dec to early Feb) gets things rolling today. We’ll see Legerwood’s WW1 memorial carvings, Derby and drive through the lush Myrtle Rainforest at Weldborough Pass to St Helens. This afternoon we take the short coastal drive to Binnalong Bay Lookout for specactular views over the Bay of Fires. Return to the picturesque seaside town of St Helens for dinner.
Hotel: Tidal Waters Resort, St Helens.

Day 3 Tue: Freycinet National Park
Prepare yourself for the breathtaking beauty of Freycinet National Park. A guided walk with a National Park Ranger will unveil astonishing views across brilliant blue water, forest and golden beach. Cape Tourville Lookout will astound. We’ll get up close and personal with Tasmanian Devils and other native animals at Bonorong Wildlife Park. Lunchtime is at the historic sandstone village of Richmond, site of Australia’s oldest operational road bridge. In the afternoon, get your camera ready for the impressive cliff-lined coast on the way to Port Arthur. Test your nerve on the optional lantern lit Ghost Tour of Port Arthur.
Hotel: Fox and Hounds Inn, Port Arthur, 2 nights.

Day 4 Wed: Port Arthur
We begin with a fascinating guided walk of Port Arthur’s infamous convict prison and Historic Site, then a cruise
around the Isle of the Dead. We’ll cross the 100 year old Denison Canal. View the ruggedly spectacular sea cliffs from Pirate’s Bay Lookout. Cross Eaglehawk Neck - once the guarded check-point between the mainland and convicts - on to the Tasman Peninsula to feast our eyes on the amazing vistas of Tasman’s Arch, Devil’s Kitchen and the Blowhole. We return to our hotel for dinner.

Day 5 Thu: Hobart
Today we set a course for Hobart via Claremont, for a tour of the Cadbury Chocolate Factory (seasonal). Hobart is all yours for the afternoon, explore it as you wish - maybe take an optional Derwent River Cruise or walk through historic, quaint Battery Point exploring its galleries, cafés and houses that convicts built.
Hotel: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Hobart, 2 nights.

Day 6 Fri: Huon Valley
The Huon Valley’s apple growing hills undulate before us as we make our way to the Tahune Forest AirWalk. A guided walk amongst the towering treetops, out over the Huon and Picton Rivers, unveils spectacular views from the cantilevered, suspended walkway. At lunchtime, we head to Geeveston’s Forest and Heritage Centre to gain an insight into the history of wood in Tasmania. We’ll see a spectacular view of Hobart and the Derwent River from Mt Nelson. Our Hobart orientation tour takes in Battery Point, Salamanca Place and the Botanic Gardens. Then you’re free to dine wherever you like.

Day 7 Sat: Russell Falls
Take a wander through the Salamanca Market then head west to New Norfolk and the magnificent Mt Field National Park - Tasmania’s oldest - site of the spectacular three-tiered Russell Falls. Morning tea, then we’ll wind our way up to Lake St Clair at lunchtime and amazing vistas. Back down to Queenstown, we travel along the rainforest-bordered road of World
Heritage protected Franklin- Gordon Wild Rivers National Park to coastal Strahan – a journey of exploration.
Hotel: The Strahan Village, Strahan, 2 nights.

Day 8 Sun: Gordon River Cruise
Start the day your way - simply relax or explore the fishing village of Strahan - enjoy an optional, highly recommended, train ride on the West Coast Wilderness Railway or maybe visit the Huon Pine Museum. This afternoon the Gordon River - where the wilderness comes to the water’s edge - awaits! The Gordon River Cruise takes us up this pristine, heritage-listed river. You’ll be awestruck by the beauty of the crystal clear water reflecting the untouched wilderness. We’ll stop at Sarah Island, Heritage Landing - site of the 1,000 year old Huon Pine - and have dinner onboard our cruiser.

Day 9 Mon: Cradle Mountain
Discover the engineer within as we travel through the mining and hydro electric towns of Rosebery and Tullah, toward the sensational Cradle Mountain National Park. After lunch, then we’ll take you up to Waldheim and gorgeous Dove Lake to see spectacular Cradle Mountain. The afternoon is yours. Explore the Australian National Wilderness and Landscape Gallery, just marvel at the view or just breathe in the fresh air.
Hotel: Cradle Mountain Chateau, Cradle Mountain.

Day 10 Tue: Depart Launceston
This morning you will be transferred to Launceston Airport for your onward flight.
