On our way to Strahan we hike and explore the Franklin Gordon National Park. We spend tonight in our own exclusive accommodation in the historic coastal township of Strahan where your guide will fill you in on the amazing history of ‘pining, mining and convicts’! (LD)

This morning we enjoy the intriguing history of Strahan with options to suit everyone! Take a stroll or a bike ride (free) along the foreshore or up the Water Tower Hill for a priceless view over Macquarie Harbour and Ocean Beach; walk through a rainforest to Hogarth Falls (if you’re quiet and lucky you may even spot a platypus. Another option is to join a catamaran or speed boat cruise of the central highlands and the notorious Hells Gates or a 4WD beach tour (all optional activities at own expense). Later, we take a walk through the Henty Sand Dunes, where you can even take a quad bike tour (optional) and then we visit the ‘Silver City’ of Zeehan. In the late afternoon, there’s an opportunity to try your hand at canoeing (free) in a lake nearby our overnight accommodation. (BLD)
