What to expect

You'll be picked up from your hotel and driven through coastal scenery to Freycinet. The day splits between structured and flexible time. Expect a steady uphill push to the Wineglass Bay lookout—nothing steep, but you'll feel it in your legs—rewarded by sweeping views of the turquoise bay. The descent is easier. Afterwards, a gentler amble takes you past the lighthouse. Swimming at Honeymoon Bay is refreshing but chilly; the water's cleaner than you'd expect. If you're fit and keen, you can peel off onto steeper trails instead. The afternoon finishes at the marine farm where you'll eat fresh local seafood (your shout) whilst watching the bay.
