Work out, swim and spa
The hotel has a fully equipped gymnasium for those who like to work out or take a swim in the heated pool or spa. Opening hours are between 8am and 8pm daily. Access to the gymnasium is via the ground floor of the main building.

Things To Do In The Area

Low Head Beaches
Also from Low Head, you can take a penguin tour to see the world’s smallest penguins clamber to their nests each night, or visit the two main beaches, East Beach on Bass Strait, or the quieter and safer Lagoon Bay, on the estuary. Picnic areas with electric barbecues feature near both beaches.

Platypus House, Beauty Point
Platypus House offers you a rare chance to see the unique Tasmanian Platypus and Echidna in an indoor setting. Platypus House sits on the western banks of the Tamar River at Beauty Point. Every tour at Platypus House has a fully guided tour of platypus ponds to watch platypuses feeding and playing.

Seahorse World, Beauty Point
Seahorse World proudly provides an excellent educational experience, as well as leading the world in research and development to alleviate the plight of the wild seahorse. Seahorse World provides visitors with an opportunity to experience the secret life of seahorses, from pregnant males through birth up to adulthood and exhibits more species of seahorse than any where else in the world.

The Tamar Valley, Tasmania’s premier wine growing region, acclaimed for its cool climate wines are just on our doorstep. Many of the vineyards are small and family owned, and often the growers themselves will greet you to explain how the wine is made and give you a tasting. The region is also renowned for its locally produced fresh foods, including fantastic berries and cheeses.

Golf at Barnbougle Dunes
Located on the edge of the small Tasmanian town of Bridport, Barnbougle Dunes, a 30 minute drive east of George Town, is right on the north coast that overlooks Bass Strait. A course for the people, Barnbougle Dunes, which was ranked 35th in the world, welcomes everyone to play and enjoy the first class clubhouse facilities. The Barnbougle Dunes experience includes a championship 18 holes links golf course; driving range, putting green and chipping green with bunkers; and a spectacular public clubhouse.

Diving experiences
Seal and Sea Adventures have boats to charter for diving and fishing trips in Bass Strait, offering guests the opportunity to dive along the coastline as far as Bridport (in the east) or to Flinders Island. Guests can also snorkel or scuba diver with the seals, with a shark shield device, if required.

Fishing expeditions
Launceston Lakes provides private fly fishing for trout and tuition in angling. The five lakes are located 20 minutes’ drive from Launceston, northern Tasmania’s major city. Surrounded by natural bush land, the lakes have a total shoreline of more than 5kms. They are well-stocked with brown and rainbow trout, with fish up to trophy size of six kilos and more. Only fly fishing is permitted. No fishing licence is required.

Ferries: Shuttlefish Ferries
The Shuttlefish Ferry operates from Beauty Point, near the mouth of the Tamar River, to George Town, Kelso, and to the Low Head Pilot Station. Some of the finest scenery in the state can be found along the beautiful Tamar River which is home to many fine wineries and vineyards. Charters can be arranged any time outside the regular ferry schedule, day or evening.

Low Head Pilot Station and Light House
