Tasmania’s north coast is a region that is jam packed full of varying attractions that you probably won’t know where to start first. From indoor entertainment and activities to plenty of outdoor fun and adventures, the north coast of Tasmania is a holiday destination for everyone. With its wineries, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, cities, towns and fringed by the Bass Straight, you can only start to imagine what you will have to look forward to when you travel here. Take the cable ride to the summit of The Nut at Stanley to gaze over the beautiful views of Bass Straight, tour to see Cataract Gorge and ride its chairlift or get close to an abundance of nature and wildlife that call this region home from wombats, platypuses, birds, reptiles and Tasmanian Devils along one of the many different hiking trails that you can set out on or spend the at a wildlife park with the kids. Walk through lavender fields, sample wines at one of the countless cellar doors in the Tamar Valley and especially take time to visit the Queen Victoria Museums and Art Gallery in Inveresk.

Along the coastline you will find fury penguins, seals and marine animals to photograph, coastal walks, cruises and charters to board. Enjoy a day of fishing out on the Bass Straight, do some scuba diving or snorkelling or simply just spend the day at the beach under the warm summer sun! Cruise along Arthur River, see the Aboriginal rock art sites around Green Point and then from here travel a little further inland to Lake Chisholm for some water activities and walking through pristine rainforests of Milkshake Hills Forest Reserve.

Where ever you are within the Tasmania North Coast you can fill your days with rock climbing, four wheel driving, abseiling, horse riding and wine tasting! Swim under waterfalls, plunge into rock pools, enjoy kayaking on one of the different lakes that you can find in the area or soak up the history of old whaling towns, the heritage that has been restored in the beautiful Victorian era buildings and stopping off at a coastal village where the surfing is great and the waterfront dining is even better.

Wetlands, National Parks, rainforest, caves and mountain ranges are all waiting to be explored and discovered by you when you holiday within the Tasmania North Coast.
